This morning, students worked on some word problems for division. We will have a check-in on 3digit by 1 digit division on Thursday. Mr. Risdon will be providing a study guide. In French, we continued working on the verb Etre and using it to describe "les animaux." In LA, students worked in groups to create a paragraph about food; each student in the group was responsible for one sentence of the paragraph and needed to use at least 3 of the five senses. This afternoon, students had time to work on unfinished work. In Science, we worked on circuit drawing using symbols. Students also had more time to finish their resistor experiments and their safety rules. We ended the day with jot notes in Social on the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Lowlands region.

Today we discussed the interactions of living and nonliving things within a wetland. We also started a Bill Nye video and worked on jot note skills. For Social, we continued developing our mapping skills. We are finishing up the provinces, territories, and capitals and moving onto the regions of Canada. Please ensure start of year forms as well as field trip forms are returned ASAP. We are still in need of 1-2 volunteers for the field trip to Heritage Park Wetlands on Thursday! Please see the SignUp website if you are able to come with us (and you have updated clearance). Demographic forms and information on the Muffin Breakfast were sent home today. Due Dates: All About Me in Equations was due today. Please finish this for tomorrow, if you haven't done so already.

Wednesday 12/18/19 - 1 day to go!

This morning, we started with DEAR and carolling in the gym. We worked on Sudoku in Math. Students had time to work on their storyboards and we started Chapter 7 of The Boundless. This afternoon, students had a bit of time to work on unfinished work and then time to work on their Arctic region posters. We ended the day with festive mad libs! Tomorrow we will have our Positive Choices Reward #5 - movie/snacks/pj/stuffies in the afternoon. Science Fair Tri-Folds have arrived! Please make arrangements to get these home as they are rather large to carry and not allowed on the bus. This morning, we started with Circle. In Art, we worked on some Mug pop art - pictured here . Students had time for DEAR, a snack break, Phys Ed, and we finished reading Chapter 10 of The Boundless. We ended the day with some drama games about reading emotions for our ongoing mental health work. Bill Nye Video link  (in case you missed Thursday or want to re-watch!)
