At Home Learning (OPTIONAL) for the pre-Spring Break week
If you want to do some learning at home prior to Spring Break, you can do any of the following! This is NOT required, but simply an option to help fill some unexpected days at home.
Language Arts:
- Read, complete a reading response in writing by making a personal connection or prediction (feel free to share with me at mlwilliamson@educbe.ca).
- Read a non fiction book and prepare a slideshow about the facts you learned
- Read two books by an author you like. Do some research about the author and make a google doc about the author (feel free to share with me at mlwilliamson@educbe.ca).
Mathematics:
- practice your multiplication and division basic facts
- go onto Math Prodigy (you can use your Google username and password)
- practice perimeter and area around your house (measure the rooms yourself)
- make arrays with various items in your house
- so a 2D and 3D object hunt though out your house and in your yard
- make some 2D objects with natural materials you find in your yard or in the snow
Social
- go onto the Glenbow Museum website and learn more about the First Nations people
- create a google doc about any of the regions of Canada (you can review the ones we've learned or get a jump on the Atlantic region)
Science
- look up some more electronics that use electromagnets and how the electromagnet works within that technology
Health:
- go outside to play for at least 30 minutes per day
- do yoga at home
- do some mindful meditation
- practice 10, 10, 10 stretches and warm up activities
Music
- listen to some Opera music
- what did you like about it? - What language do you think they were singing in? - draw and listen
