This morning we presented some more 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication strategies. We'll review them tomorrow and students will have a chance to practice. In French, students had the class to prepare their Fashion Show speaking assignment. We will present these on Thursday. In Science, we continued working on our visual dictionaries. This afternoon, students had time to work on unfinished work. In Social, we completed a mock fur trade. Students took turns being First Nations trappers and European traders.


Tomorrow is our Positive Choices reward! Feel free to wear pajamas and bring blankets or stuffies! :)

We are skiing on Wednesday (February 5). Students need to be in the classroom by 9:00am with a bagged lunch, water, winter jackets, snowpants, mitts, helmets and goggles.

Thank-you for your flexibility and enthusiasm as we begin this process of emergency distance learning! As I've mentioned, we are building toward the launch of our Google Classroom on Monday morning. This will be a very important space that will function as our online classroom. This is where you will be able to find important information, your assigned work for each week, and resources necessary to complete that work. When you first log in to the Classroom on Monday (through a link that will arrive in your educbe email that morning), the amount of work there might look overwhelming. I have decided to upload a whole week's worth of work at once, to allow you to work through it at the pace that works best for you. Some of the assignments have been split up by day of the week; this is a suggestion to help you decide what to work on when. However, it is ultimately up to you and your family how you would like to progress through. Feel free to do more than the one day's wort

Monday 3/30/20

Hi Grade 5 Families, Please keep an eye out for an email from me this afternoon outlining some of the next steps for learning adventures. I will also be phoning students over the next couple of days to check in and respond to any questions from the email. You need to know that you are missed at school but we are really excited about what lies ahead for us, and we will be sharing details with you through this coming week. I hope all of you have had a wonderful Spring Break! I have been using some of this time to catch up on my pile of books that I haven't had a chance to read. I hope each of you has got to spend some time doing some of your favourite activities!
