Wednesday 10/9/19

Today in Math we went over our rounding practice sheet and started looking at strategies for estimating sums, including front-end rounding and compatible numbers. We will continue this next week. In French, we worked more on la météo. Next week, we'll begin our next unit: L'école. We learned more about our characters' backgrounds while reading Because of Mr. Terupt. We also began looking at strong verbs. In Social Studies we continued our exploration of identity by reflecting on and representing elements of our own identities on outlines of our hands, in a mix of writing and drawing. Students considered physical and personality traits, hobbies and activities, cultural backgrounds, groups to which they belong, and things that they love. We got a good start on these identity hands, and will finish them up during QR/WOW blocks in the next little while.
