Thursday 10/31/19 - Happy Halloween!

This morning, we went over and marked Extra Practice 6&7 and students had time to work on their metric monsters. In French, we continued creating and writing about "Mon Monstre." We had fun with the parachute in Phys Ed and had a costume sharing and compliment circle. This afternoon, we worked on Halloween mad libs to help review parts of speech. We also had time to work on Remembrance Day art and character collages. Please practice In Flanders Fields this weekend - we are hoping to have it memorized by Monday!

In Flanders Fields
By Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
