Today we had circle/compliments circle and it was an awesome job done of boosting our classroom morale :) Good job, 5MW! Students had time to work on unfinished work and then we had our Cultural Artifact Museum visit. Very cool artifacts - thanks for your efforts on this! We beat our previous time score with the I Have, Who Has rounding game and read the second last chapter of our novel - we're still hoping Mr. Terupt will pull through! We ended the day with an interactive math challenge making 2D and 3D shapes out of yarn. Ms. Pearson's class joined us for this and it was great!

Reminder: Monday is our Positive Choices rewards day, so feel free to come dressed in your pajamas/bring a stuffy and/or blanket and we'll have a movie in the afternoon.

This morning, we started with Circle and Compliment circle. We viewed some of the Interior Plains News Casts. For French, we finished presenting the fashion shows. In Art, students had more time to work on their Mug art. We finished reading Chapter 14 of The Boundless and students worked on their storyboard. We ended the day with a Literacy-based activity writing kind notes to our buddy class. Overdue Work: - Mot Mystere - January quote - Decade Writing - 4 Saisons Vetements VJ page Next week is Teacher's Convention on Thursday and Friday, so there will be no school for students on February 13 and 14 . There is also no school on Monday, February 17 . The Grade 3's will be coming around on Monday selling the remaining Koalas for a Kause ($3.50 each) if you are interested in supporting this wonderful cause!

This morning we had a fabulous presentation on Acids, Bases, and pH! Students got to mix household chemicals to observe colour-changing reactions. After that, they worked as a group to identify what chemicals were used with the help of a universal indicator chart. Students worked through a check in to decide on and compare probability of different events. They also had their last (for now) composer session in Music. In Social, they worked more on their Arctic notes. In Art, we continued our Monet-inspired Birch Trees by adding snow and shadows. They are looking extremely beautiful! Students had their Positive Choice reward time with the computers and we ended the day with our novel. Happy Long Weekend!

Hello 5MW Families, I hope you've had a good first week of remote learning in our Google Classroom. I would like to thank you all for your hard work, patience and support! Just a reminder: - Tomorrow is a Stat Holiday, so there is no new work being posted or expectation for students to be working. However, the week's work is still up and available for those who choose to work on it tomorrow. - Monday is a Professional Learning Day for the teachers. We will be attending online/virtual PD to enrich our understanding of this new learning environment. - Tuesday will be the first day of the school week for students. New templates will be sent out and posted in the Classroom, along with the week's assignments. I wish you all a safe and happy long weekend!
